Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells of white porcelain that are attached to just the front teeth. They are meant to cover imperfections and flaws that have you feeling badly about your smile. Veneers are thin and lightweight, but incredibly durable in nature. They can typically last for 10 or more years depending on the amount of wear they receive.

Why are Porcelain Veneers needed?

The reason you may need or want veneers is because you’re looking to transform your appearance. If your front teeth are stained, discolored, chipped, cracked or have spaces between them, veneers can be a great way to create a brand new smile that doesn’t require years of invasive treatments to achieve. You might even be planning a big event, like a wedding, and want to look your best for the special occasion.

What Makes You A Candidate For Porcelain Veneers

What makes you a candidate for Porcelain Veneers?

To determine if you may need or would benefit from veneers, we’ll perform an examination on your teeth. Your front teeth should be otherwise healthy enough to hold onto the veneers without decay or gum disease becoming a problem. Most patients who want veneers can safely have them made and placed over the front of their smile. Veneers are ideal for patients who want a complete smile makeover without worrying about invasive surgeries and procedures.

What happens during the Porcelain Veneer process?

The veneer process is quite easy and done within two visits in our office. The first appointment involves buffing the front teeth to help the veneers fit properly. We then take impressions and use these to make custom-fitted veneers just for you. Your second appointment will involve placing the veneers. This is done carefully and slowly to ensure that each front tooth looks as natural and beautiful as possible. Once finished, you’ll be able to see your brand new smile and exude the confidence that you now have because of your gorgeous new look.
